Actually, this winter has seen the biggest waves since the 1990's not 5 years! El Nino brings in bigger waves heree in the winter, and this El Nino has been one of the strongest on record. People who did not come this winter have no idea how big the waves were, or if people only come in the summer, they cannot relate to the surf, because in summer it is usually small or trade wind related swells.

Huntington is not nicer than Maui, give me a break!! No beach in California compares to Maui. Dirty beaches line all of California, and seaweed is all over the place. Plus the water is too cold to go into w/o a wetsuit. Im taking Maui, no contest, and 99 percent of people will agree. Huntington has more sand, that is the only thing that they can brag about.

our favourite place to be. wish we were still there. this is a perfect place for little kids, although the swells have been the highest they have been in 5 yrs. red flags out almost everyday. watch your children and dont try to jump over do go under.
